With a piece of paper and tape measure in hand, measure the distance between all the bolts. Start from the center of the bolt, and measure across to the center of the opposite one. Keep a diagram on your paper and put down the measurements on the lines. Next, measure the distance to the bolt directly next to it. If you do the diagram to scale, you can punch the holes out and lay the diagram over the spare tires you’re shopping for.

When Gaby shared her metaphor, my first experience with manual gear shifting came rushing back. Have you driven a manual shift car? If so, I’m sure your memories and stories are coming back as well. When I was a senior in high school my father gave my sister and me a “junker” with a manual gear shift to drive… an older Ford coup of some kind Daddy had taught us to drive on Mother’s automatic Chevy station wagon so we discovered that a few things were different with this car. When we lurched jerkily down the street and that it would take some practice to not lurch down the road. In fact some of friends who rode with us the first few days suddenly declined our invitations until we could demonstrate better driving skills. It must have been pretty rough driving those first few days.

There are some auto parts stores that operate just like the big retailers that sell new car parts. The customer arrives at the counter and asks for a specific part for a vehicle. The attendant then searches the inventory on a computer, and informs the buyer if the part is in stock and its price. This type of used auto-parts retailers provide convenience and hassle-free transactions for their clients. Most accept credit or debit cards, have air-conditioned lobbies and paved parking lots. However, if the purpose is to save the most money possible then the best place to buy used auto parts is a junk yard.

The amount you will be paid is going to vary significantly from yard to yard. Be sure to get quotes from several to ensure that you are getting a fair price. Keep in mind that you will not be given the same value for the car that you would get if you were selling it in drivable condition.

String and tuning pins. Is there any rust around the pins, on the strings? Have any been replaced? Usually some will look newer than others if any were replaced. Play the bass notes firmly. Do you hear any rattles? If so it’s an indication the windings on the strings are loose. Usually bass strings can be “turned” to eliminate these rattles. Is there a separation on the wood section (top of the back, inside the pianos just behind the tuning pins)? If you see a gap of even 1/16″ this should be noted. This is repairable but could be a symptom of a more serious problem and should be noted.

One outlet for used car parts is the local newspaper’s classified section. Run an ad and see what happens. Selling parts from your car isn’t going to make you a lot of money, but it beats just leaving them on the car as it’s towed to the orange beach fishing. You can also sell your car parts by word of mouth. You never know what can happen.

My goal is simple. That goal is to pull back the curtain and show you how a professional copywriter creates the copy that causes people to reach for their wallet or purse. Copy you would normally have to pay for, only now you can do it yourself.

yonke Dad and Mom completed their short list of the essentials and Mom took it to the superintendent. Then, together they went to the company store for anything they could find to get out four meals and sandwiches for the 15 man woods crew to take in their lunches. It would be the last time that the men did not have, almost, infinite choices.

Create zones in your garage. For example: A gardening zone, An auto zone , A sports zone, recycling zone, etc. You get the idea. Do a major sort into the zones your family needs and uses.
