If you can’t sell your parts through the normal venues, you’re going to have to be creative. If you’ve got parts that are worth some money, and in excellent condition, try putting a note on community bulletin boards in stores, the library, or wherever you can put one up. Online bulletin boards for your area are also good places to list car parts for sale. If you post your name, number, city, and your make and model year, you might connect with a mechanic who’s been searching for your exact item. If your parts are the only ones around, you can make some good money.
Once you have made up your mind, you must keep your ownership papers ready with you because when you sell your shopping for used car parts, the first thing that is asked is your ownership papers. This is done to avoid the possibility of any kind of fraud. If you have your papers in order, it will be easier for you to sell your vehicle and earn a handsome amount against it. Otherwise, it sometimes becomes problematic to sell your vehicle and you end up selling it in prices much lower than what you deserve.
However, purchasing new parts is still not the most economical way to get your vital equipment back into operation. A better solution is to use used parts. This solution might seem counter-intuitive. Why replace worn out parts with more worn out parts? The answer is that the used parts have been rebuilt. You might be leery of using used parts-won’t they wear out and maybe even cause more damage to the pump? The answer is that, when a part is rebuilt, the worn components are removed and replaced, so that the rebuilt part consists of unworn and new components. The rebuilt part is then as good as new. Installed in the out-of-commission pump, these rebuilt parts put it back into service in almost-new condition.
Should you buy new, used, or rebuilt? Should you buy locally or online? The same rules still apply. Common parts like starters, alternators, and water pumps, can be rebuilt and last a long time for less money than new ones. Sometimes junkyard parts come with a guarantee (of sorts) and a low price that makes them worthwhile, as long as you realize they were “used” by somebody, and are already partly worn-out. You get what you pay for — sometimes — and sometimes not. What’s the suppliers reputation? What’s the guarantee? Will they give it to you in writing, with a receipt?

Also, check for licenses, certifications, references, websites, and online reviews. This can also help determine which company can offer the best deal and who can be trusted the most.
